PAINWeekEnd Miami Regional Conference for Frontline Practitioners

The PAINWeekEnd Miami Regional Conference offers a preview of the PAINWeek National Conference by presenting 11 CE/CME hours for physicians, nursing professionals, pharmacists, and other practitioners involved in managing chronic pain.

(PRWEB) April 24, 2012

The 2012 PAINWeekEnd Regional Conference convenes on April 28-29 in Miami at the Miami Beach Convention Center. Debuting in 2011, PAINWeekEnd Regional Conferences are 2-day programs of continuing education in pain management designed expressly for frontline practitioners. PAINWeekEnd is sponsored by Global Education Group and produced by Aventine Co., developers of PAINWeek®, the nation’s largest annual conference on pain management.

Florida is among the growing number of states that are responding to the issue of pain medication misuse by enacting new requirements for prescribing clinicians. By July 1, 2012, all physicians who prescribe or dispense controlled-substance medications in pain management clinics must meet one of several new qualifications, one of which is successful completion of AMA Category 1 CME™ in pain management. The Miami PAINWeekEnd Conference is an excellent and convenient means for practitioners to accumulate up to 11 CE/CME credit hours toward this requirement.

Commenting on these developments and the PAINWeekEnd Series, Debra Weiner, Aventine Managing Partner and Director of Program Development, noted, “Much attention has been brought to bear on the crisis of inadequate pain management and the need to balance good patient care with responsible prescribing practice. PAINWeekEnd Regional Conferences are a part of our coordinated response to the need for certified education that more and more states are requiring for frontline practitioners who treat patients with chronic pain. The conference is offered over the weekend in multiple metropolitan areas during 2012, providing a convenient local venue for healthcare providers who want to optimize their knowledge of pain management which is why the meeting is referred to as ‘Serious Free Time.’”

PAINWeekEnd Conference attendees (physicians, nursing professionals, physician assistants, and pharmacists) will be able to earn up to 11 CE/CME credit hours via a diverse course agenda presented by a multidisciplinary faculty. In addition, there will be commercially supported activities, both certified and noncertified, addressing a range of product, disease state, and medical information topics.

The online registration fee for PAINWeekEnd Conferences is $75.

PAINWeekEnd registrants are additionally offered the opportunity to credit their entire registration toward their attendance at the PAINWeek National Conference, held September 5-8 in Las Vegas. Groups of 5 or more PAINWeekEnd registrants also receive one free registration to the PAINWeek National Conference.
