Ohio Now Requires Pain Management Continuing Medical Education

The PAINWeek 2011 national conference is an educational resource for physicians who need to comply with Ohio's new requirement for pain management continuing medical education.

Montclair, NJ (PRWEB) July 8, 2011

The Ohio State Medical Board has recently finalized its emergency Rule 4731-29-01, and frontline practitioners may face a number of specific requirements with regard to this rule, which became effective June 20, 2011. In part, the rule requires that many clinicians engaged in pain treatment in their practices must complete 20 hours of Category 1 CME in pain medicine every two years.

PAINWeek, the National Conference on Pain for Frontline Practitioners continues to receive accolades from attendees and faculty alike. Dr. Philip Getson said that “I have attended many medical conferences in my 34 years of practice, some as an attendee and others as a speaker. I must say that this conference is the BEST run that I have ever had the pleasure to attend. It runs like the proverbial ‘well-oiled machine.’ There are no glitches. The staff is overwhelmingly helpful, the core content terrific and varied, and the facility terrific! I would whole heartedly recommend PAINWeek for all medical practitioners who treat or are in contact with individuals with acute or chronic pain.”

PAINWeek is a timely, relevant, and affordable resource that can help practitioners exceed the 20 hour requirement over 4 days. This year’s annual conference takes place September 7-10 at The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas.

A recent survey of conference registrants found that 60% do not attend any other pain conferences besides PAINWeek. This makes PAINWeek an excellent forum to share the latest information from current research and clinical findings. More information about PAINWeek and the poster abstract submission process may be found at http://www.painweek.org.
