“AAPM’s participation at PAINWeek is an opportunity to further showcase cutting-edge expertise by and for clinicians in the pain space,” said Phil Saigh, Executive Director of AAPM. “Relevant, innovative education for clinicians in a provocative setting continues to accelerate our mission to optimize the health of patients in pain and eliminate the major public health problem of pain by advancing the practice and the specialty of pain medicine.”
On Friday, September 11, PAINWeek will present the AHS track, Comprehensive Migraine Education Program (CMEP). Topics will include Diagnosis of Chronic Migraine and Episodic Migraine; Transitions, Risk Factors, and Barriers to Care; Cases Studies and Q&A; Pathophysiology of Chronic Migraine and Episodic Migraine; Acute Treatment Strategies; and Preventive Treatment Strategies. Richard B. Lipton, MD, Chair of the CMEP, states, “CMEP, an educational initiative of AHS, conveys the incredible progress in the field of headache medicine. The program discusses advances in diagnosis as well as insights into the risk factors and mechanisms that lead to migraine progression. It reviews biological theories that emerge from animal models as well as human studies of epidemiology, genetics, and neuroimaging. The program also provides a practical approach to therapeutics, highlighting the role of behavioral and pharmacologic treatment, the emerging evidence for targeted monoclonal antibodies and the exciting progress in the use of devices in migraine treatment.”
PAINWeek, the leading pain education resource frontline practitioners with an interest in pain management, will present over 120 CE/CME hours of pain management education, enabling practitioners to earn over 40 hours of credit.
