Emerging research shows that chronic pain produces a substantial biological burden and can promote cellular aging and produce systemic biological wear and tear. However, there also exists biological resilience factors, and bolstering these may prevent or reverse the biological burden of pain. Afton Hassett, PsyD, discusses building resilience in patients, and focusing on what's right, instead of what's wrong.
