Vitamin D Studied for Diabetic Pain, Associated Depression

A pilot study reported at the annual scientific sessions of the American Diabetes Association showed promising results for high-dosage Vitamin D2 in controlling chronic pain among women with type 2 diabetes and comorbid depression. This favorable outcome has led to a $1.5 million grant from the National Institutes of Health to undertake a larger, multi-year randomized controlled trial commencing later in the year.
