Health Coaching

The profession of health coaching is earning an important role in mainstream medicine. From hospital and corporate wellness programs to large innovative disease management programs, health coaches are beginning to play a pivotal role in consumer-driven healthcare. This timely and relevant workshop will teach healthcare providers how encourage their patients to take charge and drive their health and well-being, thus creating a true wellness partnership.

The traditional case manager paradigm is built upon telling patients what to do and focuses on specific risks and behaviors without integrating the bigger picture that drives self-care and well-being. To be at the cutting edge, it’s time for healthcare providers to model through the growth-promoting relationship of health coaching. This workshop will introduce evidence-based skills and processes drawn from the new domain of coaching psychology to help case managers outgrow the expert approach and empower people to drive the healthcare system to meet their needs and be well.
